Ready, set, stay! Pet lovers and foodies support Emancipet by staying home, enjoying local treats

Emancipet’s Sit Stay Day is a popular Valentine’s Day-inspired fundraiser that lets pets and their humans stay in and enjoy homegrown Austin treats while raising money for pets in need, and it will return for its seventh year on Feb. 10.

Dozens of local businesses donate gourmet food and drink items, gift cards, and other goodies that are assembled into 250 kits and delivered to homes and offices before Valentine’s Day—the perfect time to celebrate the love that pets bring to people’s lives.

Each kit contains ingredients for a romantic dinner for two from Whole Foods, sweets including iced sugar cookies from Cowgirl Treatery and chocolate from SRSLY Chocolate, healthy snacks from KIND, cans of cold-brewed coffee from High Brew, and vodka from Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Kits also include local beers and wines, gift cards to hot spots around the city, assorted pet treats for Austinites’ beloved four-legged companions, and much more.

Each Sit Stay Day kit can be ordered online for $175 now through Feb. 5 at and includes delivery in the Austin area on Friday, Feb. 10. Quantities are limited to 250 Sit Stay Day kits each year, so people are strongly encouraged to order early before they sell out.

Funds raised help Emancipet provide affordable, accessible spay/neuter services and veterinary care to pets in Central Texas and beyond. Since it was founded in 1999, Emancipet has spayed or neutered more than 250,000 dogs and cats and in 2017 will care for more than 100,000 pets.

“We love that the Sit Stay Day kits are fun and delicious, and that each kit helps Emancipet serve pets and the families who love them,” says Emancipet CEO Amy Mills.
