Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run and Party benefiting The Trail Foundation June 7

The 15th anniversary Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run and Party benefiting The Trail Foundation is June 7, and registration is now open with early bird ticket prices through April 15. All proceeds benefit The Trail Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. The Run and the Party are separate ticketed events, both beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets and more info are available at

Started in 2004 with 900 participants, the Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run brings together two of Austin’s favorite things— running and margaritas! It is the largest annual event for The Trail Foundation and raises critical funds for projects on the 10.1-mile lush, urban path around Lady Bird Lake in the heart of Austin.

More than 2,500 runners are expected for the 5K run that will begin at 8 p.m. along Walter Seaholm Drive and travel the streets bordering the lake. The finish line will be at Sand Beach Park, and the Party will take place on Seaholm’s Great Lawn.

The Party, a separate ticketed event, includes margaritas and dinner by Maudie’s Tex-Mex under the stars and lights of downtown Austin, complete with music and dancing, photo ops with TTF’s giant new 3D Trail Love sculpture, and a pop-up shop by active lifestyle brand Outdoor Voices.

Tickets for the Run include an event T-shirt, a margarita at the finish line for all runners 21 or older, and race timing.

Now through April 15, tickets for the Run and Party are $80; tickets for the Run only are $30; and tickets for the Party only are $55. April 16 through June 4, tickets will cost $100 for the Run and Party, $35 for the Run Only, and $70 for the Party only. Prices will increase once more starting Tuesday, June 5.

Heidi Anderson, TTF executive director, says: “As The Trail Foundation and Austin continue to grow, Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run and Party keeps getting bigger and better. We hope all of Austin will come run, sweat, and party with us to help celebrate and support the Trail we all use and love.”
