Design the 2017 ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot artwork for a chance to win 365 subs

Imagine a ThunderCloud sub every day for a year and/or treating your friends and family to sub sandwich parties! Three hundred and sixty-five free subs will be the prize for the lucky winner of the 2017 ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot art contest.

Each year, artists ranging from graphic designers to middle school students compete to create the Trot artwork. The deadline for entries this year is November 28, and the winner will be announced in mid-December. The winner will receive 365 free ThunderCloud subs and have their creation featured on 20,000-plus T-shirts and other promotional materials at next year’s Trot.

Official contest rules and the entry form can be found at http://thundercloud.com/turkey-trot/art-contest/.

This year’s winner was Bastrop resident and mixed-media artist Rebecca. “I was on cloud nine!” Vick says of learning that her artwork was chosen.

Always held on Thanksgiving Day, the Trot includes a five-mile run, one-mile walk, and a Kids’ K that take place outside the Long Center for the Performing Arts.

Early online registration for the ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot is $25 for the untimed five-mile, $30 for the timed five-mile, $20 for the one-mile walk, and $8 for the Stepping Stone School Kids’ K. All registrations include a T-shirt and runners guide. Registration prices will increase starting Nov. 7.

All proceeds from the Trot go to Caritas of Austin, a local charity that supports Austin’s working poor and homeless people. ThunderCloud has raised nearly $3 million for Caritas since the event began in 1991.
