Our client Freedom Solar Power recently came on board as a major sponsor of this year’s Earth Day Austin, which takes place April 22, 2017 from noon to 7 p.m. at Huston-Tillotson University.
This is the first year Earth Day Austin will be held at Huston-Tillotson University, making the event especially meaningful to Freedom Solar Power because they designed and installed a 241-kilowatt rooftop solar array at the campus in 2015 that meets 65 percent of its energy needs.
Billed as the largest sustainability event in Central Texas, Earth Day Austin draws thousands of people from Austin and beyond each year.
In addition to being a major sponsor, Freedom Solar will also have a member of its leadership team featured in a panel discussion on sustainability (details TBA). Other Earth Day Austin 2017 festivities and features will include live music, tiny houses, hands-on demonstrations, autonomous vehicles, keynote speakers including Mayor Steve Adler, food trucks, environmentally-focused films, a renewables marketplace, and more.
