Emancipet expands to Houston, its first location outside Central Texas

Houston has a million stray pets wandering the streets. Today, the city has taken another step toward solving its stray pet overpopulation problem by bringing in the “big guns.”

Meet Emancipet, a non-profit group that has experience “fixing” problems like the one we have. “Emancipet will provide low-cost spay/neuter and preventative veterinary services from a 48-foot semi-permanent trailer,” explains Mayor Annise Parker. Don’t let the trailer part fool you, this group helped Austin solve the same problem.
