Freedom Solar powers Marfa’s newest iconic art installation

Client Freedom Solar Power installed solar panels on Marfa’s newest iconic art installation, Stone Circle, by Ballroom Marfa— creator of the popular Prada Marfa installation. Eight stones are situated in a circle — hence the name — and are equipped with speakers and LED lights. The ambitious new public art installation features black marble boulders that emit patterns of sound and light from energy generated by the solar panels.

Marfa Solar Social to celebrate renewable energy, introduce West Texas residents to benefits of solar

Free solar energy-focused community event at Ballroom Marfa, Aug. 4

Ballroom Marfa, in collaboration with the Judd Foundation and Marfa Solar System, will host Freedom Solar Power for a “Marfa Solar Social” on Friday, Aug. 4, 6- 8 p.m. Freedom Solar will speak on the benefits of renewable energy, regional solar rebates and solar power technology, and the evening will also feature complimentary refreshments from Big Bend Brewing Co., tacos by Vicente Celis, and a raffle with a chance to win two solar backpacks and other prizes.
