Emancipet’s 19th anniversary luncheon May 11

Emancipet will celebrate 19 years of serving pets and their people and share the organization’s vision for the future at its annual luncheon on Friday, May 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Austin, 208 Barton Springs Rd.

More than 500 supporters, community leaders, volunteers, and philanthropists will attend the luncheon, Emancipet’s largest annual fundraising event. Tables, sponsorships, and individual tickets can be purchased online at emancipet.org/events/luncheon/.

Emancipet’s mission is to make veterinary care affordable and accessible to all pet owners. Emancipet owns and operates a growing national system of low-cost pet health clinics in underserved neighborhoods and has locations in Austin, Houston, Killeen, and Pflugerville Texas; and its first out-of-state clinic in Philadelphia.

Emancipet CEO Amy Mills, who has become a sought-after speaker in the international arena of animal welfare and social change, will be the keynote speaker. KXAN’s Emmy Award-winning chief weathercaster Jim Spencer will emcee the event.

In the past year, Emancipet has:

  • Opened a new state-of-the-art Central Austin clinic— its largest, most efficient, and first purpose-built clinic which will be a model for all of its new locations going forward
  • Performed unprecedented disaster relief at its Houston clinic in the wake of Hurricane Harvey by offering FREE spay/neuter surgeries, general vet care, and emergency treatment to more than 10,000 cats and dogs over a three-month period
  • Expanded its services at various clinics to include specialized surgeries like tumor removals and heartworm treatment; dentals; treatments for skin and ears; and other life-saving treatments at fixed prices with no surprise charges

The money raised at the annual luncheon helps Emancipet provide affordable, accessible veterinary care to pets in need. Emancipet served nearly 100,000 pets in 2017, providing quality veterinary care to families regardless of their ability to pay, ensuring that pets can stay with the people who love them.

Tickets are now on sale for $175 per person. A limited number of tables are available. Please visit emancipet.org/events/luncheon/ to purchase tickets or reserve a table.
