Kerbey Lane donates 18,669 meals to Central Texans in need

Kerbey Lane Cafe donated a total of 18,012 meals to Central Texans in need through its “Hot Cakes for Hunger” drive benefiting Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB), which took place at all seven of its locations July 16-29.

During the campaign, Kerbey Lane donated all proceeds from its specialty pancakes to the food bank, as well as an additional 824 pounds of pancake mix. Kerbey Lane team members presented CTFB with the check from the proceeds and boxes of pancake mix, and helped sort nearly 6,700 pounds of food during their team-building volunteer day at the food bank on August 8. Emancipet offering low-cost heartworm treatment at Central Austin and Houston locations

Heartworm treatment costing 50-70 percent less than the national average of $1,000 is now available at Emancipet Central Austin and will be available at Emancipet Houston beginning in July. The typical cost of heartworm treatment is not affordable for all pet owners, sometimes resulting in pets turned in to shelters or not surviving the disease. Emancipet’s pricing ranges from $225-$495 depending on the size of the dog, and can be split into two payments. Read more
