Kerbey Lane Cafe’s ‘Cakes & Cash Drive’ to benefit Central Texas Food Bank, July 18-30

Kerbey Lane Cafe will host a “Cakes & Cash Drive” at all seven of its locations July 18-30, with all proceeds from its specialty pancakes benefitting Central Texas Food Bank.

Kerbey Lane serves three specialty pancakes each week, including one vegan and one gluten-free option. Customers will also be able to add a tax-free donation to the food bank to their check at the end of their meal (or make a cash contribution).   Read more

Freedom Solar Power celebrates inauguration of Austin’s largest rooftop solar array

Our client Freedom Solar Power inaugurated the largest rooftop solar installation in Central Texas at the Strictly Pediatrics Surgery Center in Mueller at a festive celebration on June 18.

Comprised of nearly 2,500 solar panels, the 812-kilowatt system designed and installed by Freedom Solar features two solar canopy structures on the parking garage, a roof-mounted solar array on the building, and an in-lobby monitoring system that shows the energy savings in real time. Read more

IDEA Austin announces 20 new schools by 2022

IDEA Public Schools Austin announced Monday, May 16th, that it will serve 20,000 students in 20 new schools by 2022. The expansion is made possible by a $16 million donation from the KLE foundation, which supports IDEA’s mission of College For All Children. Hundreds of community leaders, IDEA parents, and IDEA students cheered the announcement at a celebratory event held at the school’s Rundberg campus. Read more

Freedom Solar Power and ABC Home & Commercial team up to bring power of the sun to San Antonio

ABC Home & Commercial Services in San Antonio is now powered by the sun, thanks to a project recently completed by Freedom Solar Power.

Powered by 152 SunPower 327 watt high efficiency modules, this solar project will offset more than 75 percent of ABC’s electricity costs, and it will pay for itself in less than four years. The solar project will save ABC Home & Commercial a total of $250,000 over the next 25 years, the guaranteed lifetime of the system. Read more

Recap of Mueller Happy Hour at Elaine’s at Eastside Cafe

After a week of nonstop rain, the clouds finally parted and gave way to sunshine— just in time for the Mueller happy hour on the outdoor patio of Elaine’s at Eastside Cafe.

About 60 Mueller residents came to the meet up on April 22. Some rode their bikes from the neighborhood, and others stopped by on their way home from work. Neighbors mingled and got to know one another while enjoying drink specials, the beautiful scenery of the backyard garden, and free appetizers including shrimp ceviche and vegetable taquitos. Emancipet raises $317,000 at 17th anniversary luncheon

Emancipet raised a record-breaking $317,000 at its 17th anniversary luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel. (Last year, the luncheon raised $262,000.)
