Kerbey Lane Cafe debuts Akaushi beef and pork belly on new Fall Menu

Kerbey Lane Cafe is introducing locally-raised, internationally famous Akaushi beef with the debut of its new Fall Menu, now available at all seven locations through early 2017.

From just outside Austin in Harwood, Texas, Kerbey Lane’s new Akaushi beef comes from third generation cattle farmers at HeartBrand Ranch. The current herd, the largest in the United States, was raised from a small number of the “red cows” imported from Japan. The beef is natural-fed, hormone free, and richly marbled with tender and flavorful fat. Read more

NBA star Kevin Durant gives back to IDEA Rundberg

Last week NBA All-Star Kevin Durant visited IDEA Rundberg Academy and College Prep in Austin, where BBVA Compass and the Kevin Durant Charity Foundation are building a $100,000 outdoor basketball court for the students as part of their “Build It and They Will Ball” charitable program. Durant brought news to the 400 IDEA students assembled in the school’s gymnasium that the court would be finished at month’s end, gave tips on how they can build their own bright future, and toured the court’s progress. Freedom Solar prescribes dose of clean energy to Westlake Medical Center with solar installation

Our client Freedom Solar Power recently completed a 509-kilowatt rooftop solar array at Westlake Medical Center, an upscale 15-acre medical complex in the heart of Westlake Hills.

Designed and installed by Freedom Solar, Westlake Medical Center’s solar project is comprised of 1,566 solar panels and includes a visual monitoring system in the lobby that shows the energy savings in real time. The solar installation is expected to offset 12 percent of Westlake Medical’s energy needs, will pay for itself in less than five years, and will generate more than 689,533 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
